Debt
This section is written as a response to the current financial down turn. It is a developing section and more material may be added.
We aim to identify
* Local sources of help and support for individuals who are in debt or financial difficulty e.g. debt advice, welfare advice and credit union facilities
* Useful resources as you highlight and pray through this situation in your church e.g. prayers, articles and monthly statistics
* National organisations who are campaigning or inform on the wider issues
* Local developments
The local Citizen Advice Bureaus for Derbyshire and Credit Unions are working together with Council and Primary Care Trust employees to improve the services currently available. As material is published on this it will be posted here e.g. strategic plan.
Acts 435
Acts 435 is a revolutionary website that allows people to give money directly to others. 100% of what is donated via Acts 435 goes directly to those in need. If you GiftAid your donation, it helps towards the running costs of the charity.
It’s a very simple idea. There are people in our communities who need financial help, and there are people all over the country who want to help those in need. Acts 435 puts those people together.
It has been piloted in York diocese and the Archbishop of York is now extending its scope across the country
