If you are considering starting up a social enterprise and are looking for a clear understanding of why it is the business model of choice then the ‘First Steps in Social Enterprise’ workshop is for you. It will help you explore the practicalities of starting a social enterprise, providing you with an awareness of the different legal structures available and the management, governance and funding aspects of setting up your business. Suicide Awareness: 1 November, 10am - 2pm
Tutor Ian Elliott, Mental Health Liaison Specialist, Derby Royal Hospital (Suicide Awareness Partnership Training). This training is open to anyone but targets those whose work (paid or unpaid) is likely to bring them into contact with people who are vulnerable to suicide or self harm. Suicide is a problem for society as a whole. To increase awareness - and to help remove the stigma which can be a barrier for those in need of help - this free half-day training seminar will cover
o The myths and attitudes of suicide
o Find out (and challenge) common assumptions that surround suicide
o Discover the likely suicide risk factors and warning signs
o Find out how you might help someone at risk of suicide and self harm
