http://www.csv.org.uk/campaigns/csv-make-difference-day Saturday 30 October 2010

CSV Make a Difference Day is the UK’s largest single day of volunteering.  Every year tens of thousands of people get together across the UK to make a difference in their communities.  Try out volunteering or recruit volunteers for an activity!  If you’re a charity or community group, help you to find volunteers in your local area. Over the past 14 years, two thirds of those who volunteered for the first time on CSV Make a Difference Day were still involved six months later.  Tel: Freephone 0800 284 533 or simply email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. As a peer mentor you will:  be trained with specific exercises; help older people in your community to keep fit; help older people to exercise in their homes; talk to older people on the telephone; and meet with other peer mentors. Volunteer Centres reach out to local groups!  Volunteer Centres Derbyshire

WANTED 2CI (Community Computer Initiative)

A new social enterprise in its very early stages.  Links helped this new social enterprise with business planning support.  The main objectives are to offer real and supportive work experience to people disadvantaged in the labour market, and computers for low income households and charitable organisations with local computer support at an affordable price. At the same time the group will be recycling computers and endeavouring to source all that they use locally and ethically. The enterprise is looking for secure premises with good disabled facilities and transport links for a computer club. Sharing premises with another organisation will be fine as long as there are separate lockable areas to store computer equipment. The ideal location would be in or around Chesterfield town centre. The organisation is very keen to build mutually beneficial links with local groups, charities and social enterprises and would love to hear from anyone interested in working with them.
