Melbourne Area Transition

The Parish Church is of huge heritage significance and is a Grade 1 Listed Building. They believe, however, that Solar generation using Photovoltaic Cells on the church roof is both practical and appropriate. Sustainable Youlgrave
Sustainable Youlgrave is a community-based initiative run by the people of the Bradford River Valley, situated in the heart of the Peak District National Park and five miles south of Bakewell. It started in February 2006 to “Achieve sustainability through innovation, education and empowerment”. Its core objective is to reducing the environmental impact of the villages and surrounding parishes, towards sustainability.

Derbyshire County Council and the other partners in the Derbyshire Partnership Forum are signed up to a Local Area Agreement which includes a target to reduce CO2 emissions across the county. The relevant target is NI (national indicator) 186 “Per capita CO2 emissions in Local Authority area”. For more information see the LAA on DCC’s website.

Derby City Council
