Oikocredit
Oikocredit is a worldwide cooperative society promoting global justice by challenging people, churches and others to share their resources through socially responsible investments and by empowering disadvantaged people with credit. It is a World Council of Churches initiative set up in 1975.

Emergency Plan – volunteer helpers needed
Alan Winfield, the Emergency Plan Co-ordinator for the Diocese, needs to find a team of folk to assist with the emergency plan in the event of an incident. They need to live / work within the city boundary and be able to get to Church House fairly quickly. They would be called upon to answer the emergency telephones in Church House, to take messages from the Chaplains at an incident and relay them to the Co-ordinator, to help call out extra chaplains as and when required, and to assist with the running of the Church House Emergency Communications Centre throughout an incident. Anyone who is interested should contact Alan Winfield at email:

Department for International Development Community Linking Programme
Do your volunteers have a community link with a developing country? Is there a community group in your area with an overseas link that would benefit from funding and support? Would you like to help shape a brand new DFID programme? The new DFID Community Linking Programme will offer funding, support and learning opportunities to community groups that are linked with a community group in a developing country.
VSO is carrying out a Baseline Survey to map linking activities across the UK and to identify future programme support, and would like as many local groups as possible to be involved in shaping this programme. The findings of the survey will be available to the public from February 2010. The survey is only open for one more month so you can go straight to it at: www.zoomerang.com/Survey/survey-intro.zgi?p=WEB229P53DDJRH

FiAs Partners
FiA is part of the Church of England Diocese of Derby
We also work closely with the other Christian denominations in Derbyshire who together form Churches Together in Derbyshire
FiA is an infrastructure organisation (that is, we support other local churches and church based organisations to fulfill their aims) and as such we are members of 3D: 3rd Sector Support for Derbyshire. 3D includes a wide range of other infrastructure organisations, including Councils for Voluntary Service and Volunteer Centres who provide a range of practical support in areas such as organisational development and fundraising. We work in partnership with such organisations to maximise our effectiveness and reduce duplication.
